Cedar City's 1st Annual Cedar Express 31 Mile Relay Race is a Team Relay Race. Teams consist of 5 or less people The course follows scenic Cedar City the entire way. Our course displays all the angles Cedar City has to offer from small neighborhoods and parks, to mountains, Dikes and bridges.
WHAT IS A DISTANCE RELAY?
This express distance relay encompasses runners “handing off” to one another multiple times throughout the day. In the CEDAR EXPRESS 31 MILE RELAY RACE, each team member runs and then “Hands-off” to a teammate. The team member who just finished running then waits until all team members have run before eventually they “hand-off” back to the first runner. Each runner runs (2) times throughout the day completing roughly 6 miles in total.
WHAT IS THE CEDAR EXPRESS 31 MILE RELAY RACE?
It is a team based distance running experience. The event starts early in the morning and most participants finish between 11 AM-1 PM. The total distance is 31 miles and the course follows scenic Cedar City the entire way. Our course displays all the angles Cedar City has to offer from small neighborhoods and parks, to mountains, Dikes and bridges. This event promotes active and healthy lifestyles.
Other popular relays have longer mileage and more legs. Our goal in organizing this "Express" type distance relay is to create an awsome running experience at an easier, shorter achievable level, while still challenging you. And hey to all you running maniacs... feel free to have less than 5 on a team and run more than 2 legs!
WHY SHOULD I DO AN EVENT LIKE THIS?
Relays are a tremendous team building experience. How often do you get to spend all day with 4 of your closest running friends? Relays are very supportive environments where you’ll meet lots of people with similar interests, and these people will cheer you on the entire day. The distance is a lot more approachable than you might initially think.

$200 per team (Aug 14th -20th)
